Let me first introduce myself.

I am Sanjoy, CEO of DreamTai Com Inc. ( "Sanjoy Go" in Second Life)
DreamTai com Inc. is a privately held US software company devoted to creating innovative software.

What is a Free Second Life Office and Conference Room ?

In order to promote the use of Second Life by businesses, we have introduced free public Offices and Conference halls which are open to everybody.

What we have done is to provide a free venue where office team mates located in different geographical locations can meet and work together as a team.

Our Conference Room can host multiple teams and about 200 people at the same time.
There are different areas where team members can assemble and discuss things and host events.

Any one from any company can come here and meet his team members.
All that his/her team members need is to have Second Life installed on their computers.

They can utilize the various Project Management Tools provided for managing their projects.

With the help of these resources, a Second Life Office worker can easily and efficiently work together with his/her team members.

With these tools, a Second Life Office worker could do the following:

1. Speak to each other in Real Time
2. Share Project Documents, files, pictures, Video
3. Have a virtual Project Repository and Library where the team members can refer the project related materials.
4. Schedule group meetings and activities through online Group Calendar
5. Work on Online Spreadsheet and documents with the group.

Most of these are 3rd party browser based collaborative and social networking web applications.

No installations, no version incompatibilities.

The data is stored in one place. Users who are allowed to see your data, all see the same latest version.
No need to remember who got which version by e-mail, no need to send updates, no need to merge changes.

You control the access to your data. You can change the permissions any time and they are effective immediately. Once you remove a permission to someone, that person can no longer open the spreadsheet.

Several users can view or update together the same data.
Sharing can be in a small community, or worldwide:

Our Vision

We do believe that Second Life is more than just a game or a virtual world.

It has scope to be a vast platform for the businesses to meet and interact.
In future, this will be the venue for virtual immersive offices as globalization spreads and multiple team members from remote geographical locations collaborate on different projects here.

One of the advantages of using Second Life as office is that there is no commute involved.
This will result in saving of time, saving of fuel costs and reducing pollution and making earth a cleaner and better place.

Also, there is more productivity as you can directly see the team member and immediately ask him/her avatar any question and get a fast response.
This will result in better communications.

In the future,I believe that these offices will have an inbuilt project repository which stores all the project knowledge (text, sound, video) so that any team member can access it at any time.

Many early adapter companies are entering Second Life.

I do believe that Second Life will have a major impact in the businesses of future.
